Dwayne Johnson was born into a traditional wrestling family in Hayward, California. His father and grandfather were professional wrestlers.

When Dwayne was young, his family had to move around a lot to follow his father’s matches, so they couldn’t settle down in one place for long. This inadvertently made it impossible for Dwayne to make friends and always lived in loneliness.

The Fast and Furious star’s life became even darker when his father had an affair and didn’t come home. This negatively affected Dwayne. 

With no friends or guidance from his father, Dwayne soon became a delinquent teenager. He ignored his mother’s words and used his fists to show his manhood. He got into fights at school and was called home by the police many times.

When Dwayne was 14, his and his mother’s house in Honolulu was foreclosed on due to family debt, forcing him to think of a way to avoid being evicted. Therefore, Dwayne was determined to train seriously to have the appearance and success like Stallone and Schwarzenegger.

But then, fearing being chased away at any time and being powerless to help his mother, the actor once again fell into sin. 

Wanting to make a lot of money quickly, he joined a gang of thieves in Waikiki. They mainly stole valuables from tourists swimming in the beach or in crowded areas.

Dwayne ended up on the police blacklist. At 16, he was expelled from four high schools and only accepted at Freedom High School in Pennsylvania. At this school, Dwayne had success with football but little opportunity.

At 18, Dwayne decided to follow his family’s wrestling tradition and give up football. He competed in his first WWE match wearing shorts borrowed from his uncle.

After that, Dwayne won many matches, leaving a deep impression on the audience. From here, he was invited to appear on the TV show  Saturday Night Live  and was noticed by Hollywood filmmakers.

After years of hard work in acting, Dwayne Johnson won the title of top-grossing actor in Hollywood in 2015. A year later, he became the highest-paid star in the world. 

Most recently, the movie Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, in which Dwayne starred alongside actor Jason Statham, grossed $332 million worldwide in its first week of release, an extremely impressive number.

Besides his sky-high movie salary, Dwayne also earns hundreds of millions of dollars each year through real estate investments, advertising, business and film production.
