Ronaldo faces huge bill in Saudi Arabia

Cristiano Ronaldo has been left with a huge bill after leaving a hotel in Saudi Arabia to move into his new home.

When the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner first moved to Al Nassr – becoming the springboard for a series of high-profile signings here – CR7 rented a room at the Four Seasons hotel in Riyadh.

Accordingly, Ronaldo brought all of his close associates to this luxury hotel, including family, friends and security forces. In total, this group is said to have stayed in 17 rooms, Ronaldo stayed in the two-story Kingdom Suite.

With stunning views of the capital, the cost of living in such luxurious places is not cheap, with many sources claiming that the 39-year-old striker has to spend up to £250,000 a month.

However, the fact that Ronaldo earns around £173m a year from Al Nassr, plus all commercial and sponsorship fees, means this won’t have too much of a negative impact on his finances.

Now, the 1985-born striker and his entourage are said to have moved to a permanent residence, living in a separate complex with a large security force and easy access to restaurants, shops, gyms and other amenities.

The Portuguese superstar owns a sizeable property portfolio, including two properties in his hometown of Madeira, one in Turin, a home in Cheshire from his time at Manchester United, a holiday home in Marbella and a £17m retirement home at Quinta da Marinha, on the Portuguese Riviera.

Ronaldo also bought a villa in Madrid for £5 million in July 2010, reportedly located in the upmarket La Finca neighbourhood.

The seven-bedroom house is so big that Ronaldo’s other half, Georgina Rodriguez, initially got lost. Semana, via Mundo Deportivo, reports that Ronaldo rented the property out earlier this year for €10,000 (£8,800) a month.
