Arsenal are about to make a second offer for Dan Bentley
Arsenal could make a fresh bid to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Dan Bentley in the coming days, according to The Athletic.
Recently, Arsenal officially bought goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford. Aaron Ramsdale is currently the club’s number 2 goalkeeper but his future is uncertain, with offers from several other teams.
Arsenal want another experienced goalkeeper for their tour of the US and The Athletic claim the Gunners are pushing to sign Dan Bentley from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Arsenal want to add a reserve goalkeeper.
Arsenal’s initial bid was rejected but the Gunners’ board will return to the negotiating table in the coming days.
Bentley has been Jose Sa’s back-up goalkeeper at Wolves since joining in January 2023. He has impressed with his ball-handling skills despite limited minutes. However, Sa’s No. 1 spot in goal is unlikely to be taken away from him anytime soon, so he may be tempted to take on a new challenge at Arsenal.
Bentley’s contract expires next summer, but it can be extended for a further two seasons by mutual agreement.
