Thiago Alcantara retires after leaving Liverpool
According to many sources, Thiago Alcantara is about to retire after being released by Liverpool and he has become a free player at this time.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Thiago has decided to retire and say goodbye to professional football instead of looking for a new club in the summer transfer window of 2024, after he left Liverpool.
Thiago has had quite an impressive career at the clubs he played for with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and finally Liverpool. The Spanish midfielder has always proven to be a world-class midfielder both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
At Barcelona, where he came through the academy, Thiago won four La Liga titles and the Champions League before joining Bayern Munich in 2013, where he won seven Bundesliga titles and the Champions League in 2020.

After lifting the European Cup for a second time and being named in the Champions League Team of the Year, Liverpool successfully recruited the midfielder in the summer transfer window that year for just £20 million.
However, injuries have hampered the Spaniard at Anfield throughout his four years at the club.
In his first three seasons, Thiago made 97 appearances, but his final season was a nightmare for him and the Anfield team, as he only played four minutes, with constant injuries.
Before leaving Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp also had a lot of affection for Thiago, he said: “Before he came to Liverpool, I believe that if you really love football, you will find it very reasonable to watch Thiago Alcantara play.”

“Technically he is very, very good. A talent who can play in any team in the world and it is an honour to have him with us.”
“I knew a lot about him as a footballer before he came here – what he did at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, how could you not know? and I couldn’t be happier that he decided to take on this new challenge with us.”
“From that moment I got to see him up close and all I could say was ‘Wow’. Most importantly, he is part of a new story and has helped us grow as a team thanks to his special qualities.”
“I know the injury has been disappointing for him and for us but Thiago’s class has always amazed others. This is something I will remember forever.”
