Fans ‘stunned’ as Arsenal step up in race for £65m striker Dominic Solanke, with Gyokeres deal now ‘unlikely’😱

Before the transfer window closes, Arsenal is allegedly interested in Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke and eager to recruit a new striker.

Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres is the Gunners’ main target, as was previously stated, but a transfer has never been easy due to his exorbitant price tag.

Eddie Nketiah is anticipated to depart Arsenal this summer, despite Marseille appearing to have withdrawn from the competition so that the 25-year-old could concentrate on Youssoufa Moukoko of Borussia Dortmund.

Mikel Arteta wants to field Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus against stronger opponents in order to assemble a team that can win the Premier League.

With an incredible 43 goals scored in all competitions last season, Gyokeres has an £86 million release clause in his contract, which Sporting is seeking to be used in full.

Arsenal has turned their focus to other striker prospects because they are unwilling to invest so much money in Gyokeres.

They have entered the competition for Dominic Solanke, the striker for Bournemouth, according to CaughtOffside.

The 26-year-old Solanke scored an incredible 19 goals in the Premier League the previous season and is an essential member of the Cherries team.

If he could duplicate similar stats at the Emirates, he might prove to be a game-changing addition for Arsenal, but Tottenham, their rivals in North London, will be tough to beat.

Similar to Arteta, Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Spurs, has prioritized signing a new center-forward for the remainder of the transfer window.

As a backup, the Gunners have “turned their attention” to Solanke, who is willing to leave Bournemouth this summer.

Since Solanke has a deal with the Vitality Stadium through 2027, the Cherries have the negotiating advantage.

It’s unknown how much Arsenal is willing to pay for Solanke, and Andoni Iraola’s team would only consider a transfer if they receive a £65 million deal.

As previously noted, in their recent search for a new front man, Tottenham has also been strongly associated with Solanke.

Even though Richarlison is still said to be leaving Spurs, Postecoglou is keen to recruit a new striker.

We exclusively disclosed on Friday that Tottenham had begun negotiations with Solanke’s representatives on a possible contract, and they are still the front-runners to land him.

It will be interesting to watch how this narrative plays out over the next few days, though, if Arsenal demonstrates that they are willing to spend a large sum of money on the forward.
