Kate Middleton honors flag of Wales with red coat for St. David’s Day celebration

The Princess of Wales is celebrating her country through style.

On Wednesday, Kate Middleton stepped out with Prince William to visit Pontypridd in South Wales ahead of the national celebration of St. David’s Day on March 1.

Princess Kate, 43, honored the nation by wearing a double-breasted red Alexander McQueen coat — one of the shades of the Welsh national flag.

Both she and William topped their looks off with daffodil pins, as an homage to the national flower of Wales and a symbol affiliated with St. David’s Day.

Under Middleton’s Wales-coded look, she wore a brown turtleneck top, a brown Gucci plaid pleated skirt and brown suede Gianvito Rossi pointed-toe boots.

She added another hint of red with garnet hoop earrings by Spells of Love ($93) while her husband coordinated with a burgundy sweater over his light blue shirt, paired with navy blue pants and a brown blazer.
