ITZY‘s Yeji has been accused of plagiarism for her solo track, with netizens coming to her defense.

Recently, Yeji released the teaser for the video for her solo track “Air.”
Yet, when the video was posted, many netizens hit back at the teaser, claiming it was copying British artist Charlie XCX, sharing that it was too similar to the track “Gone” which was released in 2019.
Yet, when the allegations came out and the RTs were full of comments about Charlie XCX, netizens hit back at the criticism. Some pointed out that ITZY had been doing this kind of music since they debuted, while others shared that the genre that might have been popularized by Charlie XCX has been done for years by many different artists.
Some also pointed out the fact that producer SOPHIE had done work for both Charlie XCX and ITZY in the past.
The release is on March 10.
