Lee Je Hoon, Kim Hye Soo, and Jo Jin Woong are returning for the next season of ‘Signal’

The production of the second season of Signal will officially begin.

On March 5, tvN announced that the K-drama Signal which was greatly loved by viewers, will officially return with The Second Signal. It was also confirmed that Lee Je HoonKim Hye Soo, and Jo Jin Woong will reprise their roles.

The Second Signal will follow the events of the first season. The story revolves around detectives from the past and present who communicate through a walkie-talkie and solve long-term unsolved cases.

Writer Kim Eun Hee (RevenantJirisan, and Kingdom), who created the first season, will return to the new one. She will be working with director Ahn Tae Jin (The Night Owl). The new season will be co-produced by Studio Dragon, Wind Pictures, and BA Entertainment.

Aside from Lee Je Hoon, Kim Hye Soo, and Jo Jin Woong, there will be new characters added to the second season. Actors Ahn Jae HongSon Hyun Joo, and Jo Woo Jin will also participate in The Second Signal.

The Second Signal will reportedly premiere in the first half of 2026. It will exclusively air on tvN.

The Second Signal will be the first confirmed project of Lee Je Hoon for 2026. This year, the actor will lead the upcoming series The Art of Negotiation. He will also return to the new season of Taxi Driver Season 3.

For this year, Kim Hye Soo made a grand return in K-dramas after three years. The top actress led the K-drama Unmasked with Jung Sung IlJoo Jong HyukShin Jung KeunLee Hae Young, and Jang Hye Jin. The Second Signal will be her follow-up work.

Meanwhile, The Second Signal will be the comeback K-drama of actor Jo Jin Woong. The actor last appeared in the 2024 series No Way Out: The Roulette alongside Yoo Jae MyungKim Mu YeolLee Kwang SooYeom Jung Ah, and Choi Myung Bin.
